Journey into Freedom: a Retreat in Daily Life
A prayerful preparation for Easter in the Parish Rooms

The essence of this year’s Lent course is a personal retreat, but done by taking just a few minutes a day out of our busy schedule on your own. In these days of reduced  social contact, this is an excellent way of being part of something together while staying on your own.

Everyone taking part in this everyday retreat will be given a full colour book with a reading, painting or photo and thought for the day for every day of Lent and beyond (small donation gratefully accepted). If you would like to reflect on the world, your place in it and how God relates to you and the world, do please get in touch. Don’t worry if you’ve missed the start – this is something you can start whenever you like.

For further information, please talk with Laurene safeguarding@sjgd.org.uk  or the Rector rector@sjgd.org.uk

The first Sunday of the month is an All Age Service in church. There is an area at the back of the church with toys, colouring sheets, crayons etc which children are welcome to use at any time throughout the service. For more  information about activities for young people please see the page Spiritual Life and Education – Children’s Programme.

CHARITY NEWS
Our charities for 2019-2020 chosen by the congregation are:
The Asra Hawariat School Fund in Ethiopia which offers free, high quality education to some of the poorest children in Ethiopia; and the Motor Neurone Disease Scotland.

FOOD BANK
There is a box at the back of the church for donations of food (non-perishable items only) to help stock the food bank in Sauchie which is helping to meet the basic needs of those in want during these difficult economic times. Contact person: Sybil Brinham
In these uncertain times for many of the most vulnerable in society, please remember our foodbank and be as generous as you can. The collection point will NO LONGER BE ACCESSIBLE until the COVID-19 health restrictions are lifted, but we are encouraging people to make financial contributions instead. See our Virus Precautions page for details on how to donate.
