Behind the scenes, there is much that has to be done to ensure:
- our worship, parish life and outreach work run smoothly;
- we comply with Scottish Episcopal Church policies, OSCR [charity] regulations, and statutory obligations.
We are fortunate that many members of St James voluntarily give of their time to ensure, amongst other things, that our ministers are supported in their work, that our finances and resources are managed carefully and that we care for our buildings and grounds.
Additionally, during the current Vacancy, we are working to identify and secure a sustainable future for St James.
You can find out more about some these stewardship roles below. New volunteers are always welcome – everyone’s contribution, large or small, is valuable.
Vestry
The Vestry is the governing body of an Episcopal Church. For more information on the role of our Vestry and the Minutes of St James’s Vestry meetings, see here.
Safeguarding
St James takes very seriously the need to keep people in our church community safe from harm and from abuse of trust. For more information, see here.
