NEWS AND EVENTS

  • BISHOP’S LENT APPEAL, 2026

This year’s Lent Appeal is in support of Christian Aid’s work in Burkina Faso, one of the poorest and least well-known countries in north-west Africa. With local churches and other partners, Christian Aid’s work is helping farming communities which are being devastated by climate change, to adapt and change in the face of these changes. We are asked to support the Appeal, and to pray for Burkina Faso and its people and for Christian Aid and its partners.

Last year’s Bishop’s Lent Appeal raised nearly £14,000 to help USPG’s work in Gaza. This is now being used to re-build hospitals and provide medical care in Gaza. Bishop Ian sends his thanks to the members of congregation throughout the Diocese for their faithfulness and generosity.

Further details of the Bishop's Lent Appeal can be found here: https://standrews.anglican.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Lent-Appeal-2026.pdf
