Work has begun on refurbishing our Rectory to house the new Priest-in-Charge for the linked churches of St James and St Paul’s, Kinross. Work is also underway on the adjacent Parish Rooms, to enhance their use by the wider community as well as St James.
St James is most grateful for grant assistance from the following bodies:
o Scottish Episcopal Church Provincial Building Grant Committee
o Clackmannanshire & Stirling Environmental Trust [funding for Parish Rooms’ work]
o Foundation Scotland/EDF [funding for Parish Rooms’ work]
The project could not have taken place without their help.
Thank you also to those who have contributed to the Rectory Fund, especially Patricia and Glen Peterson for their most generous donation.
UPDATES:
January 2026
Good news – both the roof works and full rectory rewire are complete! So the building is now wind and watertight and fully compliant with current electrical safety standards.
Electrical Contractor: Home Rewire Scotland, Newton Mearns, Glasgow
There is now much cleaning and preparation for redecorating to be done, which will begin shortly.
December 2025:
Roof and parapet repairs on the two single-storey wings are nearing completion. The work has been planned carefully to respect the listed status of the building.
