The St James’s Rectory, also known as Viewfield, is a Category B Listed Building which is normally the residence for our priest and, as a result, is ‘closed’ to the public.

In June 2026, as the Rectory was unoccupied, locals and those from further afield were given the opportunity to view the whole house. In what was a well-attended event, many of the visitors were very appreciative of the scale of the house and the proportions of the rooms.

A small exhibition on the history of the house and display of selected church textiles and needlework attracted much interest – as did the ‘Café’ in the Parish Rooms.
