COVID-19 precautions

Church closed? Not at all!

The Church continues to be alive and active, but our building must close.

Scotland is seeing an increasing number of people falling sick with COVID-19. We must physically distance ourselves from one another and prevent the spread of infection in order to save lives. Therefore, as well as public worship being suspended, our building is now closed.

Our worship of God and our care for each other continue but cannot be done in our building.  The work of prayer will continue there as the Rector will continue to pray inside on his own.

For details on how to join out conference call worship, please see our Online Church page

This closure is about protecting each other, and it is to fulfil that most fundamental of Gospel commands:

Love the Lord your God with all your heart,
with all your soul,
with all your mind
and with all your strength…
Love your neighbour as yourself.
There is no commandment greater than these.”

To protect the vulnerable amongst us, please do not leave your home except for essential trips.

One really sad thing about closing our building is that the Foodbank donation point there is closed until the health crisis has passed.

But it is even more important than ever to support the Foodbank during this crisis, so the Rector and Vestey encourage all to make financial donations directly to the Foodbank

If you wish to donate to the Gate Foodbank in Alloa which serves all of Clackmannanshire, you can do so by cheque made payable to “The Gate Charity” posted to their address:
2 Ludgate,
FK10 2DR

Make it clear that your donation is for the Foodbank, as The Gate run a number of different projects.

You can also donate by Internet/phone Banking or by setting up a standing order.
Contact Marie Brownhill, the Centre Manager for details on how to do this.

Stay safe, and uphold one another in prayer

Every blessing,
Fr Chris Lowdon
