It has been announced that the Rector of St James the Great, the Revd Christopher Lowdon, has been appointed as Priest-in-Charge of the Parish of Caldecote, Northill and Old Warden in the Diocese of St Albans, England, subject to certain legal formalities.
The Parish is on the outskirts of Biggleswade, to the south of Bedford and comprises of three churches.
Chris’s resignation from his current post as Rector of Dollar will be effective from the end of May 2024. However, his last Service will be an evening service on Pentecost Sunday, the 19th May.
There will be plenty of time for farewells before then. For now, the important thing is to prepare for the life of St James’ after Chris has gone. Much of what Chris currently does will have to be done by volunteers after May. Chris and the Vestry will be delighted to hear from anyone who thinks they could volunteer to fill some of these gaps.
